2017 MAS Conference and Annual General Meeting
The 2017 Manitoba Archaeological Society Conference and Annual General Meeting will be held at Pinewood Lodge, Whiteshell Provincial Park, September 22nd - 24th. This years conference will focus on archaeology of southeastern Manitoba.
The conference will begin with a tour of the Bannock Point Petroform Site on Friday afternoon. Mr. Ron Bell, will provide a guided tour of this scared site. If you have never heard of, or been to this site, it is a must see! Those intrested in the tour, please meet at the Pinewood Lodge at 1pm. Note: There will be a $15 charge for non-members.
Due to popularity, the Artifact Show & Tell and Aritfact Indentification Roadshow will once again take place. If you have a collection you'd like to share with other conference attendees bring it along! Or, if you have collected a few artifacts but would like help with identifications or more information bring those too. MAS members have a diverse range of experience and experitse and we love to share our knowledge with anyone who will listen! Artifact Show & Tell and Aritfact Indentification Roadshow will take place Saturday afternoon.
CONFERENCE VENUE - The conference will be held at the Pinewood Lodge, Whiteshell Provinical Park, Manitoba. Room rates (single or double) $139.99 / night (continental breakfast included). Guests can book directly with the lodge via the website or calling 1-204-348-7549.
This year's conference will be held in the memory of Biron Ebell. Archaeologist, mentor and friend.
