Morning Storm Delay
Progress was made despite fierce lightening, wind and heavy rain in the morning. The weather cleared and all of the participants enjoyed the day under the gazebo tents discovering the heritage of the Red River Valley. The density of artifacts increased in Units 6 and 7. Some of the artifacts included a quartz flake, Knife River Flint flake, red ochre, pin cherry seeds and small to medium mammal bones. Units 9 and 10 yielded a utilized flake/scraper made from Cathead Chert and a large clam shell fragment.
